Hello Bella Babes!
We hope your summers are off to a great start! One thing we love about this time of year is that we get to connect with so many new and familiar faces. These sunny days tend to draw more people into Fort Langley Village, and smiling faces are constantly entering our shop, brightening our days.
Many of you have already taken advantage of our Summer Sale, but if you haven’t, or didn’t know about it, not to worry! Our sale is happening throughout the entire month of July. You’ll get 30% off all regular priced clothing and shoes (with a few exclusions). It’s a great time to add a few new pieces to your summer wardrobe or for an upcoming holiday.
If you’re here, you’ve likely seen our new website, which we’re SO excited about! Thanks for stopping by our new blog, too - we’re so glad you’re here!
Today we want to introduce you to one of our customers/friends/fellow Bella Babe, Aurelia Cerquozzi. If you’ve been following us on Instagram for a while, you’ll recognize Aurelia from a Spring Lookbook she compiled for us (click here to read her blog post). Aurelia is a wardrobe stylist, among other things - she’s extremely creative and talented! She also loves travelling, music festivals, the beach, reading, hanging with her cat, being with friends, and really enjoying life to its fullest.
We have absolutely loved getting to know Aurelia. She is genuine, funny, smart, stylish, confident and so much more. But what stands out the most is how authentic she is. She doesn’t try to hide who she is or pretend to be someone the world wants her to be. She fully embraces her individuality and uniqueness. Having been inspired by her ourselves, we asked her if we could ask her some questions and share her answers with all of you.
So, pour yourselves a glass of rosé, turn on your favourite music, and sit back and enjoy getting to know Aurelia!
BW: What inspired you to become a wardrobe stylist?
AC: One way or another, I have always wanted to be in the fashion industry; starting my journey with the goal of becoming a fashion photographer. Working on the creative direction of photo shoots opened my eyes to all the little details that go into creating the actual concept. This opened my eyes to the desire of wanting to be a wardrobe stylist/creative director.
BW: What does that mean?
AC: A wardrobe stylist means you are responsible to have a relationship with the rest of the creative team, and understanding the vision of the photographer. Your role is to execute that seamlessly.
BW: What do you do?
AC: I do many things haha
Some of the tasks are:
-Building inspiration boards/ line sheets for outfits
-Meetings with creatives on the team to make sure we are all on the same page
-Prep all the clothing; steaming, hanging, covering soles etc.
-Attend the photo shoot; dress models, fix clothing/accessories as shoot is going on
I would say these are the general tasks I do but there's always other things to be done depending on the type of shoot.
BW: What do you love most about your job?
AC: Oh man! There is so much about my job that I love. Working with other creatives is at the top of my list, meeting new people through this whether they are part of the shoot team or our clients. I love shopping, and don't get me wrong it can be really exhausting when you're looking for something specific for hours and day but it's part of the role. I am also into being able to manage myself and the jobs I do!
BW: Do you have a quote or mantra you live by?
AC: "They can't scare me if I scare them first" -- Lady Gaga This might be cliche because people say I look like her, but I am not the type to live by a mantra or quote, but ever since I heard this line it stuck with me.
BW: If you could only wear one outfit for the rest of your life, what would it be?
AC: OMG WHAT?! hahaha One outfit for the rest of EVER... I don't think I could do that, just leave me naked.
BW: What is one thing you've splurged on for yourself?
AC: I am very into the "Treat yourself" motto hahaha I have definitely splurged on many things... but I would say I seem to have an easier time investing in high quality bags
BW: What is your favourite thing about yourself?
AC: hmmm, I haven't thought about this in a very very long time... I mean I crack myself up, who doesn't laugh at their own jokes right? But I would say my favourite thing about myself if that I have never been scared to truly show who I am through my personality and style. I have always sort of stuck out and I love it!
Thank you so much, Aurelia, for sharing a bit of your story with us, and we look forward to getting to know you better!
